What are the Differences Between Italian Plasters and Faux Finishes?
Italian plasters also known as Venetian plasters or decorative stuccos are real plasters imported from Italy. They not only enhance but strengthen the walls.  Faux finishes are representatives of the real thing and will bring beauty to your home for years to come.  Due to the authenticity of the Italian plasters they are priced higher than our faux finishes, but don't let that scare you off. We have excellent options for the cost conscious and can work within your budget. Unlike other faux finishers prices, Faux FX’s  prices won’t break your bank account!

Can You Hang Pictures on the Plasters?
Yes. There is NO difference between hanging a picture on an italian plastered wall versus a wall with an orange peel or monterray drag texture.

How Do You “Touchup” the Plasters?
I always show my clients how to touchup a knick, scratch or nail hole.  It is quite easy.  Additionally, I always leave touchup kits for my clients w/ the details of the formula.

Do you Charge a Consultation Fee?
Yes. The fee for a decorative painting consultation is $75 for properties located in Williamson County and $175 for properties located in the Waco, Killeen, Temple and Salado areas.

Do you have a Portfolio of Samples to Give me Ideas?
Yes, we have a portfolio of faux finishes and Italian plasters for your viewing. We also have a collection of books and magazines for you to browse through.

Textured Finish....What Do I Do If/When I Get Tired of it?
First, you want to make sure this is something you will enjoy for years to come. If you are one to “tire” of things quickly then this technique is not for you. After all, you don’t want to pay for this luxury item only to decide in 2-3 years you are tired of it. You will have to hire someone to wet sand the wall then retexture should you decide to eliminate the texture.

Do you Strip Wallpaper?
We do not strip wallpaper. Please contact a wallpaper person to complete this part of the process.

How do I Prepare for my Faux Project?
Your walls need to be in good condition. If there are any cracks or holes they need to be patched before our part of the process begins. You will need to remove all furnishings,  wall decorations, valuables and breakables from the painting area. We need a minimum of 4-5 feet clearance from ALL the walls.

Do you Offer Design Services?
Yes!  For those clients interested in having their home professionally coordinated, Faux FX is available for interior decorating, shopping trips with you (or for you) and color consulting services. Our hourly rate is $75.00/hr. plus furnishings w/ a two (2) hr. minimum. If you are already working with a designer, we would prefer to have them  present at the consultation.
